Report: WrestleMania 27 Draws 1+ Million Buys

Variety is reporting that WrestleMania 27, which featured the return of The Rock, along with appearances by Steve Austin, Trish Stratus and Snooki from Jersey Shore, scored one million PPV buys. Final numbers are not available, but word is that buys are up 30% in North America and up 15% overseas. For comparison, WrestleMania 25 scored 960,000 buys, and WrestleMania 26 did 885,000 buys.

The article also credited the marketing WWE did for the event as a factor in the rise in buys, noting that the company had their performers all over different television shows for appearances.
