— According to the GWF Advertiser, Championship Wrestling International is under investigation by Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. This is the company that Hulk Hogan and several other former 1980s WWF stars worked for.
There are reportedly issues with non-payment of hotels and other logistical costs that were incurred as part of the tour. Other allegations include a local businessman that was hired to work on some aspects of the tour being charged for a number of hotel rooms and a local travel agent getting a free flight for Hogan under the promise that others on the tour would have their tickets booked through her. That promise never came true, and the ticket booked for Hogan was never used.
Also, there are also claims that the charity that was promised a donation, Ronald McDonald House in St. John’s, has not received any money. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is working with the Ontario Provincial Police on the investigation.
The New Age Outlaws, Mick Foley, Scott Steiner, Tatanka, Brutus Beefcake and Kevin Nash have worked for the promotion in the past.
