According to The Pilot is North Carolina, Matt Hardy didn’t have much of a choice when it came to attending rehab.
In the article, it states that Hardy was only released on September 14th with a “promise to appear” because magistrate Charlie Smoak also ordered that Hardy would only be released if he underwent treatment for substance abuse. If Hardy had not agreed to this, he would have been placed in a detention center, under a $1 million bond.
It was after that arrest that Hardy made a video and posted it to YouTube, stating that he would be entering WWE sponsored rehab.
