— Boxing writer Bert Sugar passed away Sunday from cardiac arrest. Sugar, known for his trademark fedora and cigar, was involved with several wrestling books. He and Lou Albano were co-credited as authors for The Idiot’s Guide To Pro Wrestling; he also co-authored two books with wrestling photographer George Napolitano, Wrestling’s Greatest Grudge Matches and The Pictorial History of Wrestling: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
— Mick Foley and The Miz have been going back and forth via Twitter after Foley teased that he may join Teddy Long’s team at WrestleMania. Miz replied with:
Hey @realMickFoley quit trying to make yourself relevant again. Unlike u I don’t settle I make things happen.
Foley responded with:
Yes, @MikeTheMiz you ARE awesome…as a character in my new children’s book, in which The Miz learns a valuable holiday lesson from @CMPunk
Word is that The Miz may replace Alberto Del Rio in John Laurinaitis’ team, which may put Mick Foley and Miz on opposite sides of the match. We’ll see on Monday night!
