WWE’s Next Big Superstar?, + Evan Bourne Update

— As we noted earlier today, there have been discussions about having Evan Bourne feud with Jack Swagger for WWE United States Title once he returns. While Santino Marella currently holds the title, WWE officials have talked about taking the title off him following WrestleMania 28.

— WWE CFO George Barrios spoke at the ROTH OC Growth Stock Conference in California earlier this week. Barrior spoke about the WWE Network and said that the company is in intense negotiations with cable companies. Barrios talked about WWE being close to having a plan to distribute the content and how they feel this is still the best option to monetize more of their content. WWE plans to spend $35-$45 million more on the WWE Network in 2012. Barrios was asked why WWE hasn’t made new big Superstars to replace the ones who have recently left and the ones who will be leaving soon like Triple H and The Undertaker. Barrios talked about how WWE is going through turning over their roster after several injuries and retirements. He admitted that WWE does not know who the next big Superstar is right now.
