John Laurinaitis announced on RAW that he had re-signed The Big Show to a contract on Saturday, making him a WWE superstar as of Sunday night. This was either an error on Laurinaitis’ part or a massive storyline logic gap, as if Big Show was officially a WWE employee he should have been fired when he got involved in the Laurinaitis/John Cena match.
The announcers covered for the gaffe, saying that Show agreed in principle to the deal but didn’t actually sign his contract until Monday morning.
UPDATE: WWE posted the following note on Twitter, trying to further cover up the initial mistake..
“It’s official! @WWETheBigShow had a verbal agreement with @WWERawGM, but didn’t sign a contract until AFTER #OverTheLimit! #OtungaLaw #WWE”
Here is The Big Show’s promo from last night’s RAW, explaining why he turned on his friend John Cena at Over the Limit…
