Backstage Update: Chris Sabin/Alex Shelley/WWE/TNA

— As we exclusively noted yesterday here on the website, Chris Sabin reportedly is following Alex Shelly in leaving TNA. Sabin has told friends that he is leaving TNA after his contract expires in August. Sabin is a four-time X-Division champion. On May 21, it was reported that Shelley had opted not to renew his TNA Wrestling contract, thus ending his eight-year tenure with the organization.

— SuperLuchas.net reports WWE has not contacted Alex Shelley. A friend of Shelley’s who wrestles for the organization informed the former TNA Wrestling star that there is interest in signing him.

Shelley plans to take a hiatus before negotiating with WWE. The website reports that he wants to bypass developmental and head straight to the main roster.
