Why CM Punk Is Working SD Events, Orton’s Return

— CM Punk is set to work the Smackdown house shows this weekend. The brand is touring Illinois and Punk is on the tour to boost ticket sales in his home state.

The SmackDown brand is hitting Springfield on Saturday and Bloomington on Sunday and has Punk defending the WWE Title against Daniel Bryan and Kane, while Sheamus defends the World Title against Alberto Del Rio.

— Randy Orton is being advertised for the dark match main event for the August 28th Smackdown taping in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is taking on Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Title in the match.

Oddly, the show is also advertising is Triple H’s “first WWE appearance in over a year.”
