A new documentary on Extreme Championship Wrestling is about to go into the final stages of production. Interviews for the documentary are being completed this week.
This documentary was actually the first ECW documentary in production, as interviews were conducted as far back as 2001 when the promotion originally closed down. There is also footage of a lot of wrestlers during a time period they were upset over the company going bankrupt. One of the themes of the documentary will be catching up with the talent over the years.
The documentary has been in “start-stop” mode for years. They are finishing the interviews, and have hundreds of hours of footage shot including over 50 interviews with former ECW wrestlers, personalities, fans and writers interviewed.
