Ken Shamrock has been accused of beating up a woman at a mall in California. TMZ.com reports that Shamrock admits to the incident but says he thought it was a man.
It went down like this: Shamrock was at a mall in Modesto last month when he saw two women fighting, with several people standing around watching. Shamrock jumped in to pull the women apart when a bystander jumped on his back.
According to Shamrock’s rep, he through the person off his back and followed up with a move that knocked her to the ground. Only then, after someone pointed it out, did he realize that the attacked was a woman, after which he backed off.
Police took a battery report against Shamrock, noting that she only suffered a slight knee abrasion. The case is with the DA’s office but prosecution is unlikely as they believe Shamrock was acting in self-defense.
Shamrock’s rep added, “Outside the ring, Ken is not a violent man … and was only trying to do the right thing.”
