As noted earlier here on the website, WWE has released developmental Diva Sofia Cortez. Cortez competed on the recent season of WWE Tough Enough as Ivelisse Velez and while she did not win, she was signed to a developmental contract after the show. Velez was considered to have a good look and was good in the ring. Prior to her release, there were nothing but positive reports about her so this comes as a surprise.
In an update on this, one source says that although she had been receiving rave reviews for her in-ring work, she had a bad attitude which led to her departure. The source notes that Cortez thought she was much better than the rest of the FCW “Divas” and was very vocal about telling people she would be on the main roster sooner than later. She had been overheard telling other talents that she’d be on television soon instead of being “stuck” in a developmental league training. Basically, she thought she was above that and didn’t need to be there.
