It was announced during SmackDown tonight that WWE Main Event’s debut will have a Champion vs. Champion match between CM Punk Sheamus.
The show debuts Wednesday on Ion TV at 8 PM ET.
We reported on Friday that the word is that WWE isn’t looking for WWE Main Event to turn into another WWE Superstars. Ion television is paying for a quality show which means WWE needs to draw good ratings on the channel.
The plan is to feature top talent and storylines each week on the show and next week’s match is a prime example of that.
