— In the first-ever title match on WWE Main Event, Kofi Kingston captured his fourth Intercontinental Championship after defeating The Miz.
The official Twitter feed of WWE spoiled the title change and released a photo of Kingston wearing his newly won title and urged fans to tune into the program airing tomorrow night on ION Television to see how the action unfolds.
ION TV is paying big money for the show and expects WWE deliver a good product with “main event” matches. That’s the reason for matches like Sheamus vs. CM Punk and a title change. Expect loads of highlights of the title change to be shown on SmackDown this Friday and RAW next Monday.
— One month after suffering a heart during a live episode of RAW, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler appeared before fans at Tuesday’s night WWE television taping in Memphis, Tennessee.
Appearing between tapings for Saturday Morning Slam and SmackDown, the legendary wrestler said he hopes to return to the broadcast booth within the next few weeks. The official WWE website announced they will release footage of Michael Cole’s “emotionality-charged” interview with Lawler on Wednesday. The Lawler appearance at the SmackDown tapings was for the live crowd only.
