The WWE Christmas Eve RAW Rating Is In, Punk’s Title Reign

— The Christmas Eve episode of WWE RAW pulled in a 2.21 (2.2) cable rating. This is down from 2.89 from the previous week. The rating was delayed due to the holiday season. It’ll be interesting to see how the rating is next week with no holiday or Monday Night Football. There will still be VERY tough competition though with the Alabama vs. Notre Dame BCS championship game. The following week is where things will return to normal with no NFL or football to compete with.

— 2012 marked the first calendar year (1/1 to 12/31) where the WWE Championship didn’t change hands since 1987 when Hulk Hogan went an entire year as WWF Champion. With 2012 being a leap year, the last we had a leap year without a title change was 1980 when Bob Backlund held the championship.
