It has been reported that YouTube is in the process of creating paid subscription channels on their site. YouTube has reached out to a small group of channel producers and asked them to submit applications to create channels that users would have to pay to access, with the rumored prices being between $1-$5 a month.
The article also states that YouTube is considering charging for content libraries and access to live events, pay-per-view, as well as self-help or financial advice shows.
WWE had a deal with YouTube, where YouTube paid them for content, which has ended as many of those shows have been running their final episodes. WWE recently asked fans what kinds of shows they want on YouTube, which could mean that it is possible that WWE will be one of the subscription providers.
