— Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was given the Edward T. Foote II Alumnus of Distinction Award by the University of Miami earlier this month on 4/18. The award is “given to an alumni who has been successful in their field and has made a significant impact through community service.” It is considered to be one of the highest forms of honor a graduate of the University of Miami can receive. Johnson has donated several millions of dollars to the University of Miami Alumni center for the renovation of facilities and locker rooms for football. They have since renamed the college locker room the Dwayne Johnson Locker Room. Johnson accepted the award giving a speech at the induction ceremony and talked about learning discipline in college that allowed him to become a success in wrestling and film.
— We reported last week here on the website that former UFC fighter and now WWE star Brock Lesnar is planning to open his own outfitting business in the Canadian province of Alberta. The business would involve experienced outfitters to guide clients to locations to hunt and fish.
