NBC sports broadcaster Bob Costas appeared on Piers Morgan’s show on CNN this week. Costas recapped the interview in which McMahon leaned forward and stuck his finger in Costas’ face. Costas noted that McMahon later called him after the interview to concede that Costas won first “match” and asked for a rematch.
Morgan also read a new statement from Vince McMahon addressing Costas 12 years later. McMahon stated: “I used to think Bob Costas was a pompous, arrogant, self-absorbed, pseudo-intellectual little twerp. I used to think that. But now, 12 years later, I’ve come to realize that he’s not really a twerp.” The statement drew a laugh from Costas.
