Former WWE talent Dave Bautista is on the cover of today’s USA Today for his role as “Drax the Destroyer” in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Mick Foley congratulated him. He wrote on Twitter: “Very happy to see @DaveBautista on the cover of @USAToday. I admire people, who – sink or swim – take the plunge into new waters.”
Bautista was part of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with the rest of the cast of the film in a surprise panel. During the panel, he said: “I’m still to the point where I go to set every day and I can’t believe I got this job.”
He also said he fought hard for the role and broke down crying when he got it. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said Bautista will “freak people out” when they see him in the movie.
Meanwhile, IGN.com has released this video of Bautista and Michael Rooker talking about the film.
