It is being reported that WWE has released Richie Steamboat, the son of Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat, from his developmental contract.
Steamboat has been out of action for a long period of time, due to a very serious back injury.
As we noted earlier here on the website, with WWE picking up new developmental workers, the feeling is that some of the other wrestlers who aren’t where officials would like them to be might be cut as well in order to make room for the new talent. For example, Knuckles Madsen was released this past week. He was signed back in 2012 and had never been called up to the main roster.
