A plan to make a statue of WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino has been put on hold. The statue would’ve been built at the old Mellon Arena site in Pittsburgh.
The Pittsburgh Penguins organization put the plans on hold because they do not want anyone else except for Mario Lemieux being memorialized on those grounds. The funds for the Sammartino statue have been in place for quite some time. Now an area or site needs to be finalized, but it will no longer be with Lemieux at the old Mellon Arena.
