Adam Pearce Gives A Backstage Story On ‘The Wolves’

Back in the day at ROH, if a dark (untelevised/unadvertised) match was running long/terrible/the guys weren’t listening to instructions, I’d “send Dark City”, which basically meant that the Dark City Fight Club (another tag team at the time) were coming to effectively end the match/clear the ring.

Well, one night (I think it was in Detroit), I decided to work a dark match under a mask (at the time I was running wrestling operations for ROH and rarely appeared on a card). That was my first mistake…

Low and behold, here come the Wolves out of nowhere! They hit the ring and start kicking the crap out of me, all the while laughing their asses off! Then here I am laughing hysterically in between threatening to kill them all the while trying to bump and sell for them.

Thank God I had a mask on.

Dark City wasn’t on the card that night, but the boys sure got a laugh out of the Wolves beating the piss out of their “boss”.

I distinctly remember Davey Richards saying (in between kicks), “Sorry boss, it was Brent Albright’s idea!”
