WWE Network/Apple TV Update, SD Rating Is In, Christian

— As noted late last week here on the website, there is a lot of talk within WWE right now that Christian may be leaving the company once his current contract expires. At age 40, there’s a general feeling that WWE creative isn’t going to do a lot with Christian and that he’s just riding out his current deal.

— Last Friday’s WWE SmackDown broadcast scored a 1.98 (2.0) cable rating. That is down from the previous week’s 2.15 (2.2) cable rating.

— One of the main reasons that WWE may not be pushing for the Apple TV clearance for the WWE Network is because Apple TV charges a 50 percent cut of all subscriptions. Similar streaming services such as XBOX or Roku charge closer to 30 percent.
