UPDATE x 2: As expected, Daniel Bryan was stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on RAW this week. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon came out to reveal a “blockbuster announcement” to open RAW this week.
WWE aired a statement from Dr Joseph Maroon who said that after examining Daniel Bryan, he could not clear him to compete “this month” without potential long-term damage to Bryan’s well being. Maroon said he’ll continue to evaluate Bryan on a week to week basis.
During the opening segment, both championship belts were hanging above the ring and The Authority announced that there would be a Money in the Bank match at the PPV of the same name on 6/29 with Alberto Del Rio (won a qualifying match last week on SmackDown) and Randy Orton (who was deemed “deserving” of being added) the first two announced competitors.
Triple H also noted that Daniel Bryan “wasn’t even there” tonight. He was backstage but it appears as if they are keeping him off the show.
UPDATE: As previously reported, Daniel Bryan is out of the Money in the Bank PPV. WWE officials were made aware on either Thursday or Friday that Bryan would not be able to wrestle at the pay-per-view. It is expected that WWE will strip him of the title and announce that a Money in the Bank ladder match will determine the new champion tonight on RAW.
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
ORIGINAL: According to Sescoops.com, Daniel Bryan will not be cleared in time to compete at the June 29th WWE Money in the Bank PPV. Bryan was reportedly given the news backstage this afternoon by WWE doctors.
With that being said, Bryan will be forced to surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and a new champion will be crowned at Money in the Bank.
Obviously nothing is official until WWE announces it.
More soon.
