With pay-per-view seemingly on the way out, WWE is all in on getting as many subscribers as possible for the WWE Network. The company needs around 1.3 – 1.4 million monthly subscribers to break even. However, due to recent budget cuts (including travel and possible catering costs), this could drop some.
In order for the Network to be successful, WWE would need just under two million monthly subscribers. WWE will be in the best financial position they’ve ever been in if this happens. As for the near future, WWE would like to get 850,000 by the end of the month. Since they’ve been pushing the Network on all of the shows and loading up their PPV events, they would see anything less as a failure.
During WrestleMania XXX, the network hit 667,287 subscribers. They said at the time they were hoping for at least a million by the end of the year.
WWE will announce the latest WWE Network subscriber count at the end of this month.
