John Cena’s name has been removed from advertisements for WWE RAW the following night after Battleground (this Monday). Up until a few days ago, Cena was still advertised for the show, but he will not be there because he will be reporting to the set of the film Trainwreck. There is a belief backstage that this could be a sign of Cena dropping the title on Sunday at Battleground. These same backstage people believe that Roman Reigns is the next man up as WWE needs to “pull the trigger” on him and let him carry the title …. at least briefly. Some feel it’s simply too early to do that.
Currently, Brock Lesnar is scheduled to return to WWE RAW this Monday. As previously reported, some advertisements for a main event match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar have leaked for SummerSlam this year. Of course, they could easily change course and do Reigns vs. Lesnar but that was not the original plan.
