— According to sources, the talk within WWE continues to be that Brock Lesnar will be winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title from John Cena at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. The early word is that they are building to a potential Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania 31. The idea is that this would be Reigns’ big “WrestleMania moment” and would solidify him as a top babyface. The discussions have taken place over the last several weeks ever since it was decided that they were going with John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Of course, there is no confirmation at this point that Lesnar will defeat Cena for the title at SummerSlam but the feeling is that this year’s SummerSlam PPV is going to have a “big feel” to it and the Night of Champions pay-per-view in September will be just as big as they want to get a lot of WWE Network renewals. That means they are likely going to stack that show to entice fans to re-subscribe. As previously reported, Lesnar is expected to work Night of Champions as well as SummerSlam. It’s possible that they may do a Cena/Lesnar rematch (stipulation added?) at Night of Champions with Lesnar winning the title there instead but we’ll have to wait and see.
