— The reason for WWE wanting to move SummerSlam to the East Coast next year is not due to space as some have speculated. Both the IZOD Center in New Jersey and Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY, two venues that WWE is considering for SummerSlam next year, are about the same size as the Staples Center in Los Angeles (where SummerSlam has been the last few years). Barclay’s actually holds less people than Staples.
— UPDATE: As reported earlier, Rob Van Dam’s current WWE run was expected to end last night at SummerSlam.
In an update on this, we can now report that Rob Van Dam is scheduled to work WWE TV this week, so he isn’t done quite yet.
ORIGINAL: It was believed that Rob Van Dam’s current run would be over after last night’s SummerSlam PPV, where he beat Cesaro on the pre-show.
While there is still a possibility that he could work this week’s TV tapings, the word is that he is done for right now and will be back when he’s ready.
