As previously reported, if Spike TV and TNA fail to reach a new TV agreement, iMPACT! Wrestling probably wouldn’t be pulled immediately after the deal expires. Spike would keep working with TNA on a temporary basis as they find a home for the show. Even if TNA and Spike don’t re-sign, TNA won’t “go out of business” as they have overseas contracts to fulfill and have to shoot footage to fulfill their obligations.
TNA has been working with United Talent Agency to find a new approach to live events. Changes could be made soon in how the events are presented and planned.
As noted earlier, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross posted this tidbit in his latest blog:
“I’m told from optimistic sources that should know that the prospects are good for Impact Wrestling to remain on cable TV after this current Spike Contract ends. I still think that there’s a shot that Spike retains their wrestling product but time will tell soon enough. Though this is purely speculation, I can’t see how Impact can make it over the long haul simply providing content to international entities. For the sake of all involved in Impact, I hope that things work out for them in a positive manner. I like their roster whose strength is definitely bell to bell physicality.”
