— As noted late last night here on the website, it appears as if Michael Sam’s invitation to appear on RAW has been pulled. Following the initial invitation, and mainstream media coverage WWE received, WWE has removed all references of their invitation to Michael Sam from WWE.com. Sam, who was released by the St. Louis Rams, is the first openly gay player in the NFL. With Monday Night Football opening the season next week with two games, WWE looked to gain some interest and viewers with the Sam invitation. The Dallas Cowboys worked out Sam, who is expected to sign on for their practice squad once/if he passes his physical later today.
