Pro wrestler and Bellator MMA heavyweight contender Bobby Lashley is officially out of his scheduled bout with James Thompson at the upcoming Bellator 134 event in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Lashley pulled out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury, just days after winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at the premiere edition of professional wrestling show “Impact Wrestling” on the Destination America cable channel.
While no replacement for Lashley has been confirmed at this point, another former part-time TNA performer — Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, who typically fights in the Light Heavyweight division, has offered to move up to the Heavyweight class to fight the former PRIDE veteran Thompson.
According to various sources, Thompson has yet to agree to Lawal as his new opponent for the Bellator event.
Headlined by a Bellator Welterweight Championship bout between Douglas Lima and Paul Daley, Bellator 134 takes place on Friday, February 27th from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, airing live and free on Spike TV.
