The home of the New York Mets is set to host wrestling this year, the first time in its six year existence. Citi Field posted the following to its Twitter account, noting that they will host professional wrestling for the first time since it opened in 2009:

While Citi Field has not previously hosted professional wrestling, Shea Stadium–its predecessor–hosted many WWF events back in the day and the Mets’ minor-league affiliate, the Brooklyn Cyclones, have hosted TNA and ROH shows in the past.
