As previously reported, WWE has filed a trademark for the Kliq’s hand gesture, which could present a problem for the Bullet Club who use the gesture. However, according to a 2011 press release someone may have beaten WWE to the punch.
According to the press release, North Carolina State University trademarked all “Wolfie” related material including the hand gesture. The question would be whether the trademarks are determined to be in the same arena; it is conceivable that both companies could hold a trademark if they are determined to be for separate realms of industry.
