UPDATE: As previously reported, Chronicle writer Max Landis created a parody video titled Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling. Landis reports that the video was very popular within WWE but that WWE told talent not to comment publicly on it.
Bryan Alvarez initially said that WWE officials didn’t like it, prompting Landis, who is friends with many people in the company, to call him on the comments. Alvarez then admitted that most of the wrestlers liked it. You can check out the tweets below:
Hey @bryanalvarez I appreciate you saying that WWE wasn't happy with #wrestlingisntwrestling but I can tell you for actual fact: BULLSHIT.

@bryanalvarez They're not allowed to tweet it cause of content (language, etc) in the PG era. Not enmity.

@bryanalvarez Office verrry happy, trust.

ORIGINAL: Here is a new–and quite frankly, kind of awesome–video from Max Landis titled “Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling.” The twenty-four minute video is described as an “educational parody” and looks at WWE and its narrative and storytelling through the career of Triple H.
The video features appearances from Joey Ryan, John Hennigan, Christopher Daniels, Kazarian, Chris Hero, Becky Bayless, Justin Roberts, Colt Cabana, JTG and Shad Gaspard, Ryan Nemeth, Seth Green, David Arquette, Macauley Culkin, Chloe Dykstra and more. Landis is the son of director John Landis and wrote the screenplay for Chronicle, as well as making the viral hit “The Slap” which parodied another viral hit, “First Kiss.”
