Speaking to Sporting News at Chicago’s C2E2 convention, WWE announcers Booker T and Jerry Lawler commented on the upcoming boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather. You can check out their responses below.
Booker T’s thoughts on the fight: “(Manny) Pacquiao is going to come out there and do his best. But I think Mayweather is going to go out there and beat him in all facets of the fight. I think he’s going be a better defensive and offensive fighter. I think if it even got into a brawl, Mayweather would even win that due to the clinch. I think Mayweather is going to win the fight.”
Jerry Lawler on how they match up: “Oh my gosh. Ordinarily, in almost any fight I can think of, I would pick a winner because I would have somebody in mind. I have no clue. Both of these guys are so evenly matched. I just got to say it’s a tossup. I’m going to enjoy it. I’m going to watch it. But I have no clue who will win. In all honesty, I don’t really have a favorite even though Floyd Mayweather has come to work with us in WWE. He’s a great character and a cool guy to be around. I have nothing against Manny Pacquiao. I like his style and I like his fights. To me, this is going to be one of those fights where I just watch two guys beat the hell out of each other and I’m just going to sit back and have fun watching it.”
