As of this morning, there was still no definitive decision on Rusev’s status for the Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber match tonight. Rusev arrived at the arena several hours ago and was scheduled to be checked out by WWE’s doctors at some point this afternoon. He is still expected to appear on the show if he is unable to work a match.
As previously reported, Rusev was injured at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings during his match with Ryback. Rusev suffered a lower leg injury, and was spotted in the airport wearing a walking boot. He had crutches with him and was in a wheelchair as he headed to his flight.
Rusev was scheduled to face John Cena in steel cage matches on the weekend live events, but he was pulled from those events and replaced by Kane. Word is that if he can’t go tonight, Bray Wyatt will likely be his replacement.
