As previously reported, Gunner and Samuel Shaw parted ways with TNA over the last week. While the two weren’t released as a result of any failings on their part, there was no room for them on TV and the cuts were considered to be a cost-cutting measure.
Gunner had not been used since February, while Shaw last worked for the company in May. When Brittany (who both men were in a program with last fall) left to concentrate on modeling and her NWA Women’s Title reign, it was said to be over for both Gunner and Shaw. There are several contracts coming up in the next two weeks, most notably Austin Arries, and that the company is cutting back on renewal offers in the same way they did for the likes of AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.
In related news, Gunner posted the following today:
Changing the Twitter name today folks. I'll be dropping TNA from it and keeping Gunner. Please rt and spread the word.
