According to sources, Roman Reigns was planned to win the WWE World Heavyweight title from Seth Rollins before Rollins’ knee injury. WWE is currently rewriting their original plans, including for WrestleMania 32, due to the fact that Rollins will be out for 6-9 months.
WWE planned on Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for Survivor Series and TLC in December. It’s unknown which PPV Reigns would have won the belt at, but Rollins was set to drop it. The plan going into WrestleMania season was for Reigns to be champion. There’s no word on how these plans will affect the tournament at Survivor Series to crown the new champion.
Rollins will fly home from the UK today or tomorrow and will go back to Iowa. While he hasn’t scheduled surgery yet, he will very soon.
