— According to sources, AJ Styles has been working hurt and is currently said to “be in a bad way.” He has been having back issues, which is now said to be a herniated disc and nerve pain in his lower back. Styles was booked in the NJPW World Tag League Tournament, and has had to miss both non-tournament and tournament appearances due to the injury. He hasn’t wrestled since November 27th, and is said to be in tremendous pain and is having a hard time moving around. He is currently resting and rehabbing as much as he can while in Japan. The forfeits will likely cause issues, as the New Japan tournaments are carefully planned out. Styles is scheduled to challenge ROH Champion Jay Lethal at the December 18th Final Battle PPV, and NJPW IC Champion Shinsuke Nakamura on the January 4th WrestleKingdom 10 event.
