UPDATE: There are currently no plans to have Daniel Bryan return at the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania, surprise or otherwise. At this point the company isn’t holding out for a specific date or keeping him sidelined for any other reason than the fact that Dr. Joseph Maroon, WWE’s head doctor, hasn’t cleared him yet.
Vince McMahon would be likely to give him approval if Marron would clear him, but since that hasn’t happened yet he’s been kept back. As noted yesterday there is no truth to reports that his release is imminent, at his request or otherwise.
