According to TMZ, Sting’s wrestling career is over. Sting hurt his neck badly during his match with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions, and after being evaluated by several doctors, they have agreed that it would be too risky for him to wrestle again. Sting has been diagnosed with cervical spinal stenosis, which is a condition affecting the nerves that can result in extreme pain and discomfort. If that sounds familiar, it is because this is the same condition that led to Edge’s retirement.
Word is that he may officially announce his retirement at the Hall of Fame ceremony next month. As for his future, Sting is reportedly open to a non-physical role with the company, but TMZ says that no specific role has been offered.
