According to sources the Prince Puma character is said to not be dead in Lucha Underground. They did run an angle where he lost a Grave Consequences match as a possible write out, but the promotion has made a major offer for a new deal for him to stay. If rumors are true, between Lucha Underground, New Japan and indies, he’d earn more than just about anyone in NXT (outside of Joe, Nakamura and Balor) but it would be less than a major WWE main roster star makes. At this time he is scheduled to the New Japan Super Juniors tournament, which is in May and June, and is then talking time off and not taking bookings.
The feeling is that if he is done with Lucha Underground that he won’t be able to head to WWE until sometime in 2017 due to his non-compete clause. Lucha Underground is considering bringing the Prince Puma character back for season four, possibly with someone else in the gimmick if Ricochet is leaving.
