EVOLVE’s relationship with WWE is resulting in some significant changes to the former. According to sources, the promotion will be focusing more on talent that has potential to move onto WWE developmental deals going forward.
While the company is still open to using talent that is under contract elsewhere in shorter runs or as guest stars for some events, the plan is to have a pool of talent that WWE scouts could see. As part of this, Sami Callihan has finished with the company as of last weekend and is moving on to Lucha Underground. He could still pop up in the company from time to time but a long-term storyline is more difficult to fit into the company’s plans.
There should be news about WWE’s Global Cruiserweight Series matches in EVOLVE within the next couple of weeks.
