In today’s episode of The Taz Show, Taz paid tribute to Joanie “Chyna” Laurer, who passed away last night. He talked about meeting her in the early 1990s, the last time he saw her and the issues she had with WWE.
He said he wanted to talk about “the white elephant in the room” but didn’t want to disrespect WWE. He said that with her death, fans are asking if WWE will acknowledge it or mention her passing on RAW. He said it was an “awkward thing” for Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and WWE, based on the past relationships. He said it was “obvious” there was a strained relationship and now that Chyna has died, it creates an awkward situation, similar to families who suffer losses and never get to have closure. He added: “It sucks and it’s not just wrestling.”
He compared the situation to WWE’s relationship with The Ultimate Warrior, nothing that WWE and Warrior were able to make peace before he died. He said that Chyna should be in the Hall of Fame, but WWE can’t be blamed for the stance they took before her passing. He once again stated he didn’t want to be negative toward the WWE but he doesn’t know if Chyna would go in the Hall of Fame before her passing. He now believes it will happen.
He credited her with being a pioneer for women’s wrestling and how she drew money for WWE.
