“I have news to report about my dad’s surgery. Let me begin by saying that my family is thrilled about the prayers and best wishes. My dad told me that he had a call from MSU’s assistant football coach last night and the head football coach got on the phone. He was told that the MSU family would be praying for him also. We are so humbled by all of your thoughts, stories, and prayers, as is my father. So here’s what I know as of this moment. They had to stop the surgery because of my dad’s breathing. They are putting him in ICU for the next couple of days to evaluate him; the doctors will then decide their next course of action. Please continue praying for him and the doctors. Again thank you so much. I will keep all of you informed as I hear of news. Peace!”
— TMZ reports that Rob Van Dam and his wife Sonya Szatkowski have filed divorce documents to end their marriage. The two were married for 17 years. Szatkowski filed papers for divorce and to restore her old name, citing irreconcilable differences. RVD and his wife reportedly separated last December.
According to Szatkowski, she and Rob Van Dam are said to still be on good terms. They still talk, but the marriage apparently wasn’t working anymore. She’s also asking for spousal support and for her attorney fees to be paid. She stated, “It’s a private time. It’s a hard thing for me to even talk about.”
