WWE offered its direct help to Orlando following the shooting at the Pulse nightclub on June 12th. FOX 35 reports that Orlando released a number of texts, emails and the like that were related to the shooting at the gay nightclub, in which forty-nine people were killed and another fifrty-three were injured during a Latin Night event, and among them was an email in which Stephanie McMahon reached out to Orlando mayor Buddy Dwyer and offered the company’s aid.
In the email, Stephanie referred to Orlando as WWE’s “second home” and said that WWE was brainstorming ways to raise money for the OneOrlando fund, then asked whether there was more that they could do. Dyer wrote back thanking her and said someone from the city would be in touch.
WWE had a moment of silence on that Monday’s episode of RAW, and all proceeds from Sunday’s live event in Orlando were donated to the “OneOrlando Fund.”.
