Samoa Joe made his WWE main roster debut tonight on Raw, attacking Seth Rollins as Rollins walked down the aisle to confront Triple H.
Joe had been rumored to be joining the main roster imminently and according to Dave Meltzer, is expected to get a “monster push.” A feud with Seth Rollins definitely seems to suggest that.
Joe had been rumored to be a possible entrant in the Royal Rumble last night, but this debut seems to make more sense and has a bigger impact, in my opinion. The Seth Rollins angle at NXT TakeOver also seems like it was partly done to help set up Samoa Joe’s debut, with him maybe being angry that Rollins showed up in “his house” and challenged his “boss,” or something.
Rollins and Triple H are expected to have a match at WrestleMania, but it appears that Rollins may feud with Samoa Joe in the meantime.
An idea was also being thrown around of having Samoa Joe take on John Cena at WrestleMania, but it appears like that won’t be happening and they’ve brought Joe onto Raw instead of SmackDown.
