Triple H participated in a media call today to promote NXT TakeOver and said that NXT is basically still rebuilding from the brand split and large amount of call ups to the main roster and that he is “not happy with where it is right now by far.” Here’s his full quote:
I think NXT has potential to be a lot of things. I think right now, for me anyway, one of the things that I really like about NXT is it is a little bit of kind of like an exclusive network property that makes it different and makes it have a different feel to it. The [WWE] Network is an evolving product so there are some things and some changes that I’m hopeful that will happen sooner than later that will expand it, make the show better… expand the value of it to everybody. The one thing the Network has done is create all these opportunities but as each opportunity comes up, it makes you re-look at where everything sits and how it functions.
Splitting the rosters and a massive amount of NXT talent getting called up re-shifted that brand. And we’re still sort of rebuilding from that still to this day. It’s still a process. And I’m not happy with where it is right now by far. I want it to be much better than it is, but it’s a rebuilding process. And all these things going on, they all make changes in the ecosystem. So where everything lands at the end of the day is a moving target.
