Any potential deal for WWE to buy Ring of Honor is “dead” as of now, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
News broke last month that WWE and Ring of Honor were in talks about a buyout. ROH’s COO Joe Koff denied the reports, saying that talks between ROH and WWE were only about WWE licensing material from ROH’s tape library. Dave Meltzer claims that buyout talks story was true, however, though obviously they were just talks and as of now, they have apparently stopped.
They are still in talks for licensing old ROH material for WWE Network specials, since a lot of top WWE stars previously wrestled in ROH.
