During this week’s NFL Draft, WWE ended up having several tie-ins to the event with Bruno Sammartino and Xavier Woods making appearances, well sort of on the latter.
As part of the yearly tradition of bringing in guests and former players to announce team draft picks, the Pittsburgh Steelers had WWE Legend Bruno Sammartino publicly announce their pick for the Fifth Round. The Steelers ended up picking cornerback Brian Allen from Utah as their selection.

Another WWE star was also involved with this year’s NFL Draft although more in a comical way. During the Sixth Round of the Draft, the Dallas Cowboys ended up picking Xavier Woods as their selection. WWE’s Xavier Woods stated he was surprised to have been drafted but proclaimed this wouldn’t affect his Youtube show nor his career on Smackdown. The actual Xavier Woods picked by the Cowboys was a safety who played for Louisiana Tech.
