Bobby Roode is expected to be called up to the main roster within the next few weeks, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Roode lost the NXT Championship last night at TakeOver: Brooklyn III to Drew McIntyre.
According to Meltzer, WWE is “super high” on Roode and he’s expected to get a big push on the main roster and become a top 5 guy on whichever brand he is moved to.
There have been rumors that WWE is planning another “Superstar Shake-up” soon after SummerSlam and that seems like an opportune time to bring Roode up.
It’s probably safe to speculate that some other NXT wrestlers could be getting called up soon also. The Authors of Pain dropped the NXT Tag Team titles at TakeOver and SAnitY will now seemingly feud with Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish, so it seems like the Authors of Pain may be done in NXT also.
